Bungees

Post by mtaylor »

Oh Boy! I get to start a new thread! Life's simple pleasures...

What's the scoop from from Hatz builder graduates on bungees? There's 825 lb, 900 lb, 950 lb, 5/8ths and 3/4 inch versions, and I assume two per gear leg? Looks like a tight squeeze using 3/4" so I'm looking at 5/8ths & 900 lb. I'm using the 0-320. I'd like springs, but my Lauzon fuselage is set up for bungees and I wanna fly, not fool around with yet another foray.

Aircraft Spruce has a shock ring listed for the Hatz at http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/l ... _rings.php but it's a 400 lb. rating. I would be inclined to use the same diameter bungee as an equivalent gross weight Cub or Super Cub, as I assume it is pretty much the same shock strut set up. The Cub bungees are in this same link above. Good luck. Herb
