Tie Down points

Post by dougm »

Just curious, how many Classic builders have built their wings to include the tie down anchors? And... of those of you that have them... how many use them?

I see a lot of photos with Hatzs (and other bipes for that matter) tied down by attaching the rope to the struts and bringing it over the top of the bottom wing, but I see very few pics where the tie down rings underneath are used.

Build them into the bottom wing fittings as shown on the Classic drawings. Using ropes or straps, you will wear the paint off your struts if you use them for tiedowns.

I think they are a great addition and were not difficult to build.
