Here's the response I received fron Norm Pertersen at EAA info services regarding rib/wing load testing of the Hatz biplane.

If the Hatz Biplane is built according to the plans, it will be plenty strong and fly well. John Hatz was a dear friend of mine and a fine designer. Each rib has to support about 200 pounds at 6 "G's", so support the rib with two spars and start adding weight (evenly across the length) until you get 200 lbs. on it. The rib should be inverted for this test - positive G load. Good luck.
